Click Chemistry Amplified Nanopore Assay for Ultrasensitive Quantification of Proteins

Reference #: 01610

The University of South Carolina is offering licensing opportunities for Click Chemistry Amplified Nanopore Assay for Ultrasensitive Quantification of Proteins

Background:

Despite major advances in HIV testing, ultrasensitive detection of early infection remains a key challenge, especially for the viral capsid protein p24, which is recognized as an alternative early virological biomarker of HIV-1 infection.

Invention Description:

Increasing the accuracy of protein biomarkers (antigen, antibody, etc.) testing at ultralow concentration will allow early diagnosis of many diseases. This technology can enable quantitative protein measurement in human samples at an ultralow concentration range that is currently unavailable through existing technologies.

Potential Applications:

Quantitative measurement of HIV-1 antigen in blood during early infection, or quantitative measurement of proteins in ultralow concentration.

Advantages and Benefits:

This innovation lowers the detection limit of proteins, allowing detection at an ultralow concentration that is previously undetectable.
