Zika Virus (ZIKV) is a mosquito borne filovirus responsible for a 2016-2017 epidemic in North and South America. ZIKV nonstructural protein 1 (NS1) is a pathogenicity factor implicated in virus replication, host interaction and immune invasion. The investigators have isolated and characterized monoclonal antibodies from patients infected with ZIKV that bind the ZIKV NS1 protein. Some of the mAbs display cross-reactivity with Dengue virus (DENV) NS1 and could potentially be used as filovirus detection antibodies or therapeutics.
