A user friendly system to track education training compliance of students, gather supervisors’ approval and generate reports for accreditation boards.
Background:
Students in professional schools are often required to complete a series of tasks at varied times. For instance, medical students need to observe or perform a certain procedure. Each individual completes the requirement at a different point. If the training occurs at different sites such as multiple hospitals, it can be difficult to track compliance. Also, the approval of supervisors needs to be recorded. This needs to be done in a timely manner to allow for correcting any deficiencies and to provide timely reports to accreditation agencies.
Technology Overview:
This University at Buffalo technology is an on-line application which students access via any internet connected device using their existing university security credentials. The system provides real-time feedback on training progress. Supervisors are able to confirm completion of tasks without the need of new software through a QR code system. They also receive reports summarizing their activities. Administrators can monitor student performance and intervene in problem situations in a timely manner. It also generates reports suitable for accreditation purposes. Security of the three user groups can be modified to allow access to only the necessary information.
