is an early-maturing open-pollinated maize variety (OPV) with white grain that is drought-tolerant and NUE, with resistance to GLS, MSV, and TLB, suitable for food use in tropical, rainfed, dry/wet mid-altitude and lowland ecologies in southern Africa and similar agroecologies.

Ears per plant 0.95 Product information is based on data from the 2011/12 regional trials of early maturing populations from CIMMYT (EPOP12), evaluated at 21 locations in Southern Africa. Actual performance will vary depending on a number of agronomic and environmental factors.
CIMMYT grants licenses to pursue varietal registration of OPVs to qualified public-sector partners. Following successful varietal release in a country, commercial licenses may be issued to private-sector partners by CIMMYT or the varietal registrant on a non-exclusive basis, subject to the terms of the license issued to the varietal registrant.
Private-sector partners interested in commercializing a CIMMYT-derived OPV in a country where the product has not yet been released are encouraged to approach a qualified public-sector partner who may apply to CIMMYT for a varietal registration license.
