USF inventors have used Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) laminate to achieve the desired result. In particular, strips of CFRP laminate have been applied to the underside of concrete structures to reinforce them. The key element in the new system is a coil-able, light-weight plastic, vacuum-anchored work rail that can be easily installed on both sides of the designated laminate installation site. This segmental, plastic version has the benefit of reduced weight, easy transport, and easily adaptable to any required length of repair in increments of the segment length. The newly designed installation process commences after normal cleaning, scarifying, and/or chalk lining of the repair area.Once the intended position of the laminate is located, the work rails can be either simultaneously or individually installed an equal distance on either side of the centerline of repair such that suitable clearance is maintained.
