USF has developed a data-driven tool to help support strategic decision-making by the highway professionals and policymakers. This tool incorporates multiple resources to help decision-makers select a highway project that ensures the maximum return. It aims to link the cost of project improvements under specific strategies to the benefit of reductions in the severity of roadway crashes by implementing countermeasures for different functional classes of roadways. The tool also provides the flexibility to select necessary strategies in different functional classes of the roadway, to yield cost-effectiveness from the agency standpoint.
