Stepped OFDM with Random Pattern

Advantages

  • Increases maximum unambiguous velocity
  • Enhances velocity and range resolution
  • Enables joint radar and communication in a single waveform
  • Reduces hardware complexity (single ADC)
  • Maintains radar performance with randomized patterns

Summary

The rapid growth of mobile networks and radar systems has created an urgent need for high-performance radar technologies capable of accurately detecting high-speed targets with minimal hardware complexity. Traditional radar systems, such as OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing), face limitations in unambiguous velocity detection, particularly in high-speed or densely populated environments.

Our innovative Stepped OFDM with Random Pattern technology addresses these limitations by enhancing unambiguous velocity detection while simplifying system design. Practical tests, including simulations with targets moving at speeds up to 290 m/s, showed that the random pattern method preserves unambiguous velocity detection like conventional OFDM, while improving velocity resolution and range resolution. This breakthrough solution supports both radar and communication functions in a single waveform, offering unparalleled performance in complex and high-speed environments, setting it apart from existing radar technologies.

Enhance velocity detection and range resolution with minimal hardware.
