This technology is a barcode reader that utilizes an entangled transmitter that allows better performance especially when the detected light has undergone loss and noise. Background: When the observed light has been subjected to loss and noise on its way to the receiver, entanglement-assistance improves efficiency in discrimination and communication tasks the most. This means that a barcode reader with entanglement-assisted reading can read barcodes from a long distance. This technology could be used with LIDAR-based sensors to identify scenes without completely resolving them because detecting a barcode is a type of pattern recognition.
