Overview of Technology
Wine cork technology and app that uses natural patterns in the cork to select a specific bottle of wine and provide customers information
The Wine market generates $300 billion globally, and $80 billion in the U.S, which has a steady growth rate of 7%. There is a clear gap of missing information for consumers who seek information about wine, and also producers who seek market data, and there is no current solution on the market to satisfy this identifiable gap.
This is a specially designed and manufactured cork that will utilize imaging technology that uses the natural patterns in the cork to emulate QR code technology. Users can use the app to scan the code on the side or bottom of the cork to learn about the wine that they are drinking; such as the name, where the grapes were grown, where it was bottled, and appropriate pairings.
Users can interact through the mobile app whilst producers can use the back‑end dashboard to understand consumer profile analytics, thus fulfilling the gap in the market which currently lacks the provision of information to producers and customers.
