This invention involves an upright cone-beam breast computed tomography (CT) using short-scan acquisition––designed to image two breasts simultaneously with high resolution. The design prevents patients from having to reposition their bodies between images. Additionally, this invention builds on the deep learning algorithm for breast CT image reconstruction. Background: Currently, there is a lack of commercialized methods of breast imaging that use dual imaging simultaneously and short-scan acquisition. Present mammography and tomosynthesis require breast compression, causing missed lesions and limited-angle artifacts. This technology aims to target the existing problem of radiation dosage and accessibility for elderly and obese patients, while improving overall accuracy. Applications:
