The Patient Data Access and Secure Identity Tool software ("AccessWeb") is an integrated, web-based data security management software system designed to administer, monitor and approve access to multiple company computer systems, software applications and databases. The real value of the AccessWeb solution is when it is used as a workflow tool in association with Identity and Access Management (IdAM) components for provisioning users and managing access to various systems. The software engine allows for the administration and delegation of appropriate access to muliple applications within an organization as well as different levels of access based on an individual's role within the organization. The system is designed to provide quick access for new users as well as immediate termination of disallowed users, within minutes of request. This is accomplished by providing an automated provisioning process to setup the critical set of provisional access once Human Resources enters or removes the user into the system. Managers can view access by their employees in real-time. The system allows users to reset passwords, request additional access and to activate accounts. The system uses protocols based on facility rules, and common hospital policies, procedures and auditing standards. Access requests are tracked, audited, and routed for appropriate approval, which has aided in fulfilling requests for external financial audits, SOX compliance audits, and HIPAA security standards monitoring. Another feature is that the software tool allows for the simultaneous communication with different databases and applications even if each database has different protocols, structure and data formats (for example, Microsoft SQL, Sybase, LDAP directory, ODBC databases). The software can be used on different types of computing devices, such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
