Abstract:
Wireless communication devices often require incoming high frequency radio signals to be shifted and converted from analog prior to digital processing. This demands high power use, and circuits are sensitive to effects of parasitic capacitance. This patented technology offers improved performance and includes a sub-harmonic injection-locked local oscillator (SILO), which may be configured for mm-wave with coupled phase shifter, matching filter, resonance tank, and transformer-coupled oscillator.
Applications and advantages:
Lower power consumption facilitates high data rates and expanded wireless connections.
Lower sensitivity to layout parasitics.
