• Can specify how many rounds to be loaded • Lightweight, portable and ergonomic device • Can accommodate different rifle platforms and ammunition sizes • Works at the flip of a switch
Researchers at USF have developed a device that is a fully automated solution for magazine loading. The prototype allows for users to insert an unloaded magazine and flip a switch. Once turned on, a loaded magazine is provided as an output. This device can accommodate many different rifle platforms and ammunition sizes. The user is able to interact with the ammunition hopper which receives the ammunition, and an ergonomically designed load bay to remove the magazine once the loading operation is completed. The invention is cordless, fully mobile, and automated. These features allow for users to bring the device to shooting ranges and load magazines for the operator while making the most of their time. This technology is applicable to the firearms and ammunition industry and has potential to be produced among magazine manufacturers for quality checking purposes.
