A standard wastewater treatment system today must increase the size of their facility and/or increase their carbon footprint in order to increase the system’s overall throughput. This has both economic and environmental consequences that would be undesirable for the facility owner and the world climate alike. Our inventors have come up with an alternative that will increase the throughput of wastewater treatment systems without significantly increasing the size or footprint of the system. This is achieved by using a membrane filter system instead of the current biological processes that create constraints on the process. Therefore, this technology will provide civic, environmental, and economic improvements to today’s wastewater treatment systems.
