This is an immersive art experience in which individuals will walk through a model of a brain while using augmented reality (AR) for a more realistic, immersive experience. Attendees also listen to sonified electroencephalograms (EEGs) of healthy brains and brains with different diseases, such as dementia and Alzheimer’s which allows them to hear what the brain waves of practically invisible diseases sound like. Educational materials about the experience are also available via QR codes in the experience. Background: Immersive art experiences merge technology and art to create sensory-rich environments for participants. Research has shown that immersive art experiences engage multiple senses and can stimulate cognitive function, trigger release of dopamine and endorphins to boost mood and reduce stress and foster a sense of social connection. Many immersive art experiences related to health are used for distraction, pain management, and therapeutic purposes. The Hearing the Invisible immersive art experience combines the use of an app and augmented reality with audio EEGs to create an engaging, educational experience around brain health. Applications:
