Summary

Our researchers have designed a prone cart to enagble a user to lie down in a more natural body position and elevated as opposed to be laying totally horizontally as on existing prone carts. A few interesting features of this invention are, overall length will reduce by 30 cm when the patient is in the elevated position, body support structure systems can be adjusted from 0– 25 degrees, the front deck incorporates a joystick that controls the body support’s adjustment angle and another for forward, reverse and turning the cart. Additionally, it incorporates elbow rests, rear view mirrors, a work/eating surface, and a pullout storage drawer.

The Folding Frame Motorized Prone Cart, offers an articulated foot support to ensure that the patients who suffer from tetraplegics or paraplegics do not injure themselves when they maneuver in the prone cart, it has a centralized power base resulting in smaller turn-ing radius, it also enables multi-positioning for the user.
