Dual Purpose PIG for Cleaning and Internal Integrity Assessment for Pipelines

In-line inspection (ILI) pigs, on the other hand, are specifically designed for such tasks, identifying potential risks from in-line defects. The proposed dual-purpose pig addresses these limitations by integrating an inspection attachment into the cleaning pig. This innovation enables inspection to be performed simultaneously with regular cleaning, reducing the reliance on ILI pigs and minimizing associated costs. By streamlining cleaning and inspection processes, this dual-purpose pig offers a cost-effective and efficient solution for maintaining pipeline integrity without frequent interruptions.
