Invention Summary:
Competency Medical Assessment Pro (MAP) is a real‐time online assessment system developed as an innovative solution designed to streamline the feedback process to medical students, focusing on the 13 Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) essential for medical school graduation, as outlined by the AAMC (American Association of Medical Colleges).
Rutgers researchers have developed this system that enables faculty to efficiently assess and provide formative feedback to students, promoting active learning and self‐improvement. The system enables faculty to efficiently assess and provide formative feedback to students, promoting active learning and self-learning. The software also allows for an individual to self-monitor progress and for a Faculty coach to monitor the student’s progress, and for an institute to monitor cohort progress.
Market Applications:
Potential to be used by all medical hospital schools across the country
Medical simulation products and tool providers
Advantages:
Comprehensive dashboard that offers both numerical and graphical data linked to Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education
Allow for real time formative feedback using voice technology
Link Entrustable Professional Activity framework to ACGME competency framework.
Healthcare professions including pharmacies, use EPAs to support experiential learning that can help trainees to perform tasks independently.
