Chemical Compound to Remove Ammonia in Freshwater and Salwater Fish Storage Systems

Competitive Advantages

  •     Higher ammonia removal efficiencies
  •     Remains active longer than current products
  •     Removes ammonia in both fresh– and salt-water systems
  •     Cost-effective

Summary

Our inventors have developed a chemical compound which removes ammonia from fish tanks or other closed water systems. This compound or laboratory chemical conditioner (LC) works in both fresh– and salt-water systems, consists of only four components, and is very cost effective. Results show that this ammonia removal method exhibits higher removal efficiencies than several currently available commercial products, and remains active for much longer. This invention is useful to both private and commercial entities which need to transport fish while they are alive, maintain live fish for catch-and-release fishing practices, raise fish in aquaculture farms, or raise fish in aquariums or fish tanks.
