CAH217

CAH217 is an intermediate-maturing maize hybrid bred for the tropical lowlands of South Asia. This high-yielding, yellow-kernel maize hybrid performs well under drought conditions, and has tolerance to TLB, FSR, and ear rots.   General Information   Target Region South Asia   Adaptation/Agroecological zone Tropical Lowland   Type of product Single-cross hybrid   Year first announced 2024         Kernel Characteristics       Kernel color Yellow Grain Yield   Kernel texture Semi-dent Grain yield under opt. 8.34 t/ha       Grain yield on-farm 5.43 ± 2.9 t/ha   Biotic Stress Performance Grain yield under DT 3.79 t/ha   Fusarium stalk rot (FSR) (AI) (1-9)* 5.6 Grain yield under RS 5.38 t/ha   Turcicum leaf blight (TLB) (AI) (1-9)* 4.1       Ear rots (1-9)* 4.1 Agronomic Characteristics   *Diseases are scored on a 1-9 scale, where 1 = Highly resistant; 5 = Tolerant; 9 = Highly susceptible.
