This invention is an acromial plate for use with an acromion comprising of an acromial support structure with screw holes to keep plates in place and stabilize the acromion. Background: Fractures of the acromion and scapular spine have recently raised great interest among joint surgeons, for the significant morbidity relative to reverse shoulder arthroplasty. The acromion, which is a component of the superior shoulder suspensory complex, experiences constant axial bending stress, which can cause fractures that were previously non-displaced or only slightly displaced. The distinct anatomy of the acromion pedicle structure explains additional attempts at more economical surgical solutions, such as this invention to improve stable fixation and joint function.
