Controlled substance inventory management software for pharmacies.
Maintaining organized, detailed, and accurate records for controlled substances is critical for pharmacies. All controlled substance records are required to be retained for two years following controlled substance disposal and these records must be readily retrievable for inspections. In many pharmacies, controlled substance records are still handwritten, which may be difficult to read and can lead to calculation errors. In addition, these logbooks can become very large and cumbersome over time.
Researchers at Emory partnered with RxSoft Analytics LLC to develop a software to help pharmacy personnel keep accurate records of controlled substances. Control Drug Electronic Administration Records (CDEAR) Manager is a perpetual inventory management application for use in the pharmacy. CDEAR simplifies the process of maintaining accurate records for controlled substances by eliminating the reliance on handwritten logs that can be extensive and prone to error. This application is customizable to fit the workflow and record-keeping requirements of different pharmacies.
